I've watched this short video dozens and dozens of times. Only now have I realized what is happening to the Archbishop of San Francisco, who is celebrating Mass. It's what happens to me too, which is why I didn't realize it before. Through an inspired arrangement, the celebrated Marian antiphon leads us into the arms of the Mother of the Savior.
Teared up with the Archbishop. Thank you for this, Mr. La Rocca! This is how inculturation should be. So beautiful and complements the Sacred Music. God bless!
If I may ask, can you please give a small explanation of inculturation within the Sacred Liturgy? I've only seen it done poorly and am still confused about what that truly looks like.
Texas if you have the time for it, on EWTN's RUclips channel you can find back in November the full Mass this was written for. The Mass of the Americas in the Extraordinary Form or some version of that should be the title. It really is writing truly sacred music for the Liturgy in the tradition of the Church while subtly incorporating elements of the music of the culture but not letting that style dominate and become prevalent by itself which was what happened in most places in the last seventy years or so.
So incredibly beautiful. The most beautiful rendition of the Salve I've ever heard. Makes me tear up. Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto, sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
I watched this Beautiful Mass being live-streamed from the National Basilica in Wash,DC. I took a screenshot of His Excellency, sitting with glistening tears in his eyes. I felt like crying also, but at the faces of “McC..k and W.” in the red procession. Immaculata Pray For Us🙏 Embrace Abp. Cordileone with Your protection and comfort❣️
Salve Regina mater miseri cordiae, vita, dulcedo et spes nostra salve Ad te clamamus, exsules filii Hevae Ad te suspiramis gementes et flentes in hac lacrimarum valle Eia ergo advocata nostra, illos tuos miseri cordes oculos ad nos converte Et Jesum benedictum fructum ventris tui nobis post hoc exsilium ostende O clemens, o pia, o dulcis virgo Maria
Frank, boa noite! Meu nome é Lorena, eu falo do Brasil! Estou encantada com a sua composição. É belíssima, emocionante! Parabéns! Eleva a alma! Eu gostaria de adquirir o arranjo. Já está disponível para venda? Poderia me indicar onde comprar? Mais uma vez, parabéns.
Somehow Blessed Mother and baby Jesus on one of the mosaics presented here looks kind of oriental. WHY? Jesus and Blessed Mother was born in HEBREW family not asiatic.
Mary became the Mother of all people when she agreed and consent to bear God's Son. As a Mother and Queen for all people her wardrobe must be filled with royal robes of all cultures and nations. As a Christian I cannot think of anything lesser....Period.
@@googleaccount4471 most of them don't, but there is one which does- Blessed mother had light blue pins on her head there. Maybe is it this way to welcome some asiatic catholics?
@@marciecorda5209 I think you refer to the Shrine of Our Lady of China. Our Lady has appeared to cultures in many presentations and ways and I don't reserve to know the mechanics by which she appears, but with influences, those faithful have made many depictions of Our Lady which conforms to their understanding and experiences.
This is one of the most beautiful arrangements ever of the famous Marian antiphon Salve Regina.

The Archbishop with tears in his eyes at the last chords!
What a blessed man to have the ability to create this music and have the choir and musicians to bring it to life
Ad majorem Dei Gloriam
GORGEOUS! Gives chills up my spine with LOVE for our Blessed Mother
Absolutely sublime. No words... 💯love. I think i was tearing up before the Archbishop. He was not the only one with tears in that shot.
